Position Description:
Candidate will be a key member of the test design engineering team responsible to design, build, test, and
support of IR/EO (Infra-Red/Electro-Optic) test equipment in a production environment. Duties include
execution of test strategies, development of test documentation/procedures, and product testing support.
Primary task will include maintaining test equipment including periodic calibration and preventative
maintenance along with participating in the diagnosing of test issues encountered in the construction,
alignment, calibration, and testing of LASER and optical bench systems. This position requires knowledge
of IR and LASER testing including analysis of detector / sensor systems, their alignment and calibration.
Requires knowledge of optical tolerances, optical coatings, opto-mechanical design, component mounting
techniques, alignment, and test techniques.
Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information.
Required Skills:
Position required a BS degree in Engineering or Physics, with as least 2+ years experience with Infra-Red
(IR) and Electro-Optics (EO) systems. Requires experience in the field of designing, developing,
construction, alignment, calibration, and testing IR/EO LASER or optical bench systems. Candidate must
have “free space” optics knowledge.
Desired Skills:
Prefer experience with IR/EO protection systems, quality systems, AutoCAD, and Code V or Zemax design
tools. Prefer knowledge of software design/debug using C/C++ programming, NI LabWindows/CVI, and
instrumentation control using IEEE-488, HPIB, and Ethernet protocols for manufacturing functional and
acceptance test automation. Prefer active security clearance or within the past 2 years.
Communications:
Excellent, Oral & Written communication, skills with knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings and specifications.
Quality: Working familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems
