Position Description:

Candidate will be a key member of the test engineering team responsible to test and support of IR/EO (Infra-
Red/Electro-Optic) test equipment in a production environment during the 2nd shift of production.  Duties
include execution of test strategies, development of test documentation/procedures, and product testing
support including functional, ATP and ESS testing.   Primary task will include maintaining and troubleshooting
of test issues encountered in the construction, alignment, calibration, and testing of LASER and optical bench
systems.   This position requires an in-depth knowledge of IR and LASER building and testing including
analysis of optical paths, their alignment and test methods and calibration.  Requires knowledge of optical
tolerancing, optical coatings, opto-mechanical design, component mounting techniques, alignment, and test
techniques.   Works with test technicians to ensure test equipment is available and production is maintained.

Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information.

Required Skills:

Position required a BS degree in Engineering or Physics, with at least 4+ years experience with Infra-Red (IR)
and Electro-Optics (EO) systems.   Requires experience in the field of designing, developing, construction,
alignment, calibration, and testing of a laser or optical bench systems. Candidate must have “free space”
optics experience.

Desired Skills:

Prefer experience with IR/EO protection systems, quality systems, AutoCAD, and Code V or Zemax design
tools.  Prefer knowledge of software design/debug using C/C++ programming, NI LabWindows/CVI, and
instrumentation control using IEEE-488, HPIB, and Ethernet protocols for manufacturing functional and
acceptance test automation.   Prefer active security clearance or within the past 2 years.

Communications:

Excellent, Oral & Written communication, skills with knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.  
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings and specifications to the Supply
Chain.

Quality: Working familiarity with ISO 9001/ AS9100 quality systems
