Position Description (other duties may be assigned):
Under limited supervision, support all facets of carrying a product design from conception through release to
manufacturing. Assist with the design, evaluation and documentation of analog and digital electronic RF and
video communication equipment and be capable of soldering/assembly/construction of electromechanical
models. Lay out/build/test/troubleshoot/repair/modify developmental digital, analog, RF and video
communication equipment and systems, applying principles/theories of electronics/electrical circuitry/basic
mathematics/electronic/electrical testing. Adjust/calibrate/align/modify circuitry and components and record
effects on unit performance. Assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models.
Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications. Work with engineers to develop new product
assembly processes, bills of materials, drawings and test procedures. Under minimum guidance from an
engineer, design basic analog and digital circuitry such as linear and switching power supplies, audio
amplifiers, clock circuits and counters.
Position Requirements:
• Associate’s degree in an appropriate technical discipline (ASET preferred); or 5-7 years’ related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Proficiency with schematic capture (OrCad), drawing (AutoCAD), MRP (SyteLine is preferred), MS Office
(Word and Excel), MS Explorer, and Adobe Elements photo editing. Knowledge of ISO-9000 standards;
Design for Manufacturability; construction, test, and repair tools and methods; electronic theory and
terminology; SMT; and troubleshooting, testing, repair and debugging products to the component level.
• IPC-A-610 Class 2 and IPC-J-STD-0001 active (preferred) or past certifications, or equivalent training.
